These are FREE!!! (a teacher's favorite four letter word!)
This site has a couple of different styles of free printable letters big enough to use on a bulletin board. I also have my "good choice makers" help me color and cut them and they love it!
Love this idea! Create a "Proud Wall" in your classroom and the students are able to choose what they want to go up there. Whether they choose a test, a picture, or a piece of writing, they have ownership over their choice.
I have a "Stellar Speller" board in my classroom where I post each student's test who scored a 'B' or above on that weeks Spelling test.
I started off by taking a picture of each of my students holding an inflatable globe. Students LOVE seeing themselves in the hallway :)
I used my iPhone to take the pictures and then a free editing app to add the white border around each photo.
Next, as an art project, we used coffee filters to make our Earth. This was SUPER easy! Students just scribble on the filter in green and blue washable markers (or any colors if they so choose). Then you spray the filter with a water bottle (make sure it's on mist!). The water spreads the marker for a really cool watercolor effect!
Lastly, I found an Earth Day Pledge bookmark template. I had the students fill these out, color them, and then I laminated it for them to use once I took the bulletin board down.
This was my "WELCOME" bulletin board last year. I used classified ads from the newspaper as the background and printed each students name and mounted it on black construction paper.
In the middle, it says:
WANTED: 5TH GRADERS
Must Be:
Hard Working
Fun
Ready and Willing to Learn
Accepting of others
Of course, you can add your own characteristics that you're looking for in your students.
Do you ever go online to try and come up with a bulletin board idea and can't find one? Do you have a monthly contest at your school that you're dying to win? You've come to the right place! Bulletin boards are something I love doing (when I have time). It's a sort of release for me and a chance for me to get creative. I am always looking online for great ideas or a play on words that I can use to create my next masterpiece (ha!), so in case you are in the same boat, I'm here to help!
If you find any wonderful ideas out there, please feel free to share!
